We were founded in 2007 with a simple ethos, to rebuild the broken hearted and restore lives. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life, no matter their background.
In 1994, Rwanda was faced with a genocide which took the lives of thousands, this left many orphaned and in poverty. Destiny Rebuilders came in with the mission to end poverty and to give the orphaned a family community and hope.
What We Do
At Destiny Rebuilders, we give vulnerable and often rejected members of society the skills, support and resources to lift themselves out of poverty.
How We Do It
We empower communities and restore lives through our rehabilitations programs. These programs provide counselling and vocational training which helps ex sex workers and addicts develop essential skills needed to progress in life. In addition to this, we provide safe homes for street children, school fees and the basic needs that people need to lead a healthy life, such as food and free Health Insurance.
Who We Are Empowering
We serve underprivileged children, vulnerable women and men, and the elderly across Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda and Mozambique.
The Arts
Excitingly, we have found a way, through our co-founder Sherrie Silver, to use the arts to bring hope and joy to broken communities. We provide art workshops for women and children and free dance classes for youths and children around Africa. In future, we hope to open Talent Development Centres across the African continent.
An African continent where every child has access to education and where poverty is eradicated.
Giving vulnerable and often rejected members of society the skills, support and resources to lift themselves out of poverty.
Respect, Compassion, Dignity, Collaboration, Integrity, Honesty and Faith.
